The Final Post ….

It is with great sadness that I have to write the final post on behalf of Michael, who asked me to do so.

Michael sadly died at home on Friday 27th May. Myself, Simon and Emily were all with him and the room was full of love. To have Michael at home, where he wanted to be, was one of his final wishes and we were so grateful to the Thames Hospice Team for making this possible.

The past few months had been particularly challenging for Michael. A scan 3 weeks ago showed significant progression in the disease and unfortunately Michael was too unwell to start the Clinical Trial at The Royal Marsden. He had really wanted to be part of the trial, not just in the hope it might help him, but also aid research going forward to help others.

As his Mum, I can truly say that he was the bravest, most courageous man you could ever meet and there were only a few days that he didn’t manage a smile or a joke. He has inspired so many people throughout his life and with that in mind, you are welcome to join us to celebrate and remember him on June 14th.
